Who is responsible
LAURANE (PTY) LTD is responsible for personal information processed through Laurane, Laurane Partner and this website. Contact our Information Officer at privacy@laurane.co.za. Our company details are on the contact page.
Information we use
We use account and contact details, bookings, payment references, support messages and service preferences to provide and support your journeys. Location supports address selection, dispatch, navigation and active-trip tracking when permission is granted. Drivers and hosts also provide identity, vehicle, property and payout information required for their applications.
Partner verification
Verification may include identity photographs and a live selfie. Submit sensitive documents through the application process. Riders and guests do not need to upload identity documents to book. A host may disclose a requirement to present an accepted document at check-in.
Why we process it
We process information to fulfil bookings, protect accounts, prevent misuse, manage applications and payments, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Optional permissions and marketing consent can be withdrawn. Withdrawing a permission may affect the feature that needs it.
Who receives information
We share information needed to fulfil a booking with its driver or host and with service providers supporting payments, communications, hosting and mapping. Access within Laurane is limited to team members who need it. Disclosure may also be necessary for a legal obligation or legitimate safety incident. We do not sell your personal information. Some providers process information outside South Africa; applicable safeguards are required for these transfers.
Retention and security
We retain records only for service delivery, dispute resolution, security and applicable legal retention periods. Closing an account does not erase records we must legally retain. We use access controls and other safeguards; no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Request access, correction or deletion, object where applicable, or ask the team to review a verification outcome. Use account privacy controls or email the Information Officer. We may need to verify your authority before releasing records. You may complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator. See access to records for PAIA requests.
This website
We have not added advertising trackers or optional analytics cookies. The hosting service processes connection information to deliver and protect pages. Email links open your own email app. Read our cookie notice.
